YQY and the Cape Breton Island community welcome WestJet Encore to YQY!

Welcome WestJet Encore to YQY! 
Thanks to the Cape Breton Island community who joined the Board, Management and staff of the JA Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport in welcoming WestJet Encore to YQY on July 15th! Thanks to WestJet Encore President, Ferio Pugliese, and his colleagues Mike McNaney and Andy Gibbons for attending our ceilidh! Colleen Boutilier from Glace Bay played the bagpipes in her Cape Breton Island tartan kilt and the WestJet team at YQY lined up to greet the first WestJet Encore guests on airside as they deplaned. The welcome continued in the arrivals area with Town Crier, Allie MacInnis officially welcoming WestJet Encore to YQY. Guest enjoyed the ceilidh with Lucy and Stewart MacNeil from the Barra MacNeils ~ thanks Lucy and Stewart!

The excitement continued following the welcome WestJet ceilidh when Minister Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport announced funding of $1.80 million on behalf of the Government of Canada to support safe operations at YQY ~ thank you Minister Raitt and the Government of Canada!

    Step 1. Take a ticket as you drive through the entrance gate.
    Step 2: Take your ticket with you.
    Step 3: Payment Options:
          a. Pay with cash or credit card at the Pay Station located in the arrivals area near the Louisboug display 
          b. Pay with cash, debit or credit card at the Commissionaire's desk; or
          c. Pay with credit card at the exit gate of the parking lot.
